English: Comprehension & Communication

 

Priority registration: for students who have attended classes during the previous session.

General registration: for new students.

New students are required to take our level placement test, without exception. Students who are enrolled in Language Camp sessions and want to register for the Fall session (September), are required to take our level placement test before registering.

Comprehension & Communication (9 to 12 years)

Dates 2019:

  • January 12 to March 30 (Priority registration from November 16, 2018. General registration from December 3, 2018.)
  • April 6 to June 22 (Priority registration from March 1. General registration from March 11.)
  • September 7 to November 30 (Priority registration from July 2. General registration from August 5.)

Comprehension & Communication is a 12-week course which builds on the basics learned in part A. The students will work on different kinds of reading texts and various types of writing, such as essays, descriptive texts, biographies, journaling, etc.

Days: Saturday
Hours: 9am to 12:15pm
Duration: 12-week Session
Number of Hours: 3.15 hours/week in class (39 hours)
Requirements: For students enrolled in secondary 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Aged between 13 and 17 years old.
And have successfully completed the Advanced 1 level at the YMCA or be evaluated at the Advanced 2 level*.
