Gap Year Program

This program is designed for students who want to study French in Canada for a year and combine a semester of French courses and a semester in a College. It is mandatory to have an intermediate level to be accepted in this program.

1st semester | Level: Intermediate

Intensive French courses: 16 weeks
Learn French in an intensive Day Course, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm.

In the morning you will have a conversation and grammar course specific to your level. In the afternoon you can choose one course among the 7 following options listed below:

  • “Conversation” or
  • “Reading & Writing” or
  • “Writing French” or
  • “Business French” or
  • ''Culture, Media and Society 1 & 2'' or
  • ''TCFQ preparation course'' or
  • ”TFI preparation course''.

The courses are taught in the classroom and/or the laboratory.

A free YMCA fitness center membership is offered to students for the duration of the session.

  • August/September 2016 – December 2016*
  • April/May 2017 to August 2017*
  • August/September 2017 – December 2017*

Number of Hours: 25 hours/week of supervised lessons (100 hours) + 30 to 40 hours of laboratory access
2nd semester

4 full-time courses (16 weeks) at:

LaSalle College in Montreal (Quebec)

  • Business and Technologies (CISCO Network Administrator, Microsoft Certified System Administrator, IP Telephony Development and Project Management);
  • Fashion, Arts and Design (Fashion Illustration);
  • CAO and Men’s Fashion Design.

Starting dates at LaSalle College:

  • January 2017 to April 2017*
  • September 2017 to December 2017*
  • January 2018 to April 2018*
