YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada

Exchange program for 12- to 17-year-olds

Would you like to take part in an exchange with other young Canadians? YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada brings together school or community groups of 10 to 30 participants aged 12 to 17 and gives them an opportunity to visit each other in a different part of Canada. Each group participates in a one-week exchange, which can take place any time of the year. Groups also plan their own exchange activities.

This is a great opportunity for you to:

  • learn English;
  • discover another Canadian province;
  • get involved in community projects.

YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada is a learning experience that allows young people to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills they will carry their whole lives.

We encourage all young people to participate, including youth from aboriginal or visible minority communities, youth from low-income families or youth who have a disability.

“The exchange taught me to be more open to others. It was a great experience. I met new people,  saw things that I had never seen before and learned about how other people live.”

Lucas Woods, participant, YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada.
