Youth Work Co-op

Summer jobs for 12- to 17-year-olds

Would you like to gain work experience while giving back to your community? Join a group of ten or so teens aged 12 to 17 who are just as motivated as you are. Together, you will provide a variety services to your community, like painting, cleaning, distributing flyers, and much more. You will also co-manage a small business, where you will learn skills that will eventually help you enter the job market.

Youth Work Co-ops are small cooperative businesses that are managed by groups of ten young people who want to create jobs for themselves and find out about collective entrepreneurship, the democratic structure of a work co-op and the ins-and-outs of the labour market. Co-op members also learn how to operate their business responsibly. Through this experience, you will become more responsible, independent and confident.

This program is offered at the Du Parc YMCA, in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood (please contact Jonathan Alarie jonathan.alarie@ymcaquebec.org for more information), the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce YMCA and the Saint-Laurent YMCA.

The Du Parc YMCA and the Saint-Laurent YMCA’s Youth Work Co-ops are both members of the Réseau des Coopératives Jeunesse de Services.
