English: Academic reading & writing A & B

This 2-part course is designed specifically for high school teens aged 13-17. The main focus is to help students in secondary 2, 3, 4, and 5 to prepare for and pass provincial English exit and entry exams at the secondary and collegial levels.

Academic reading & writing A

Academic Reading and Writing Part A is a 12-week course which teaches the students the basics of reading and writing: sentence structure, paragraph writing, punctuation, reading for meaning, etc.

Days: Saturday
Hours: 9am to 12:15pm
Duration: 12-week Session | September 10 to December 3
Number of Hours: 3.15 hours/week in class (39 heures)
Requirements: For students enrolled in secondary 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Aged between 13 and 17 years old.
And have successfully completed the Advanced 1 level at the YMCA or be evaluated at the Advanced 2 level*.

Academic Reading and Writing Part B

Academic Reading and Writing Part B is a 12-week course which builds on the basics learned in part A. The students will work on different kinds of reading texts and various types of writing, such as essays, descriptive texts, biographies, journaling, etc.

Hours: 9am to 12:15pm
Duration: 12-week Session
Number of Hours: 3.15 hours/week in class (39 hours)
Requirements: For students enrolled in secondary 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Aged between 13 and 17 years old.
And have successfully completed the Advanced 1 level at the YMCA or be evaluated at the Advanced 2 level*.
