Our qualified teachers are here to help children and teens of all levels learn or improve their abilities in English, French or Spanish. Our main objective is to get them speaking, not just developing theoretical skills. That is why our English (eight levels) & French (six levels) programs are structured to complement your child’s regular program at school.

English conversation and grammar

Description

The conversation and grammar program consists of 8 structured levels. Students will progressively learn grammatical concepts and sentence structure in order to improve their English conversation skills in more advanced levels.

Duration: 12-week session
Number of hours: 3.25 hours/week in the classroom (39 hours)

Language Day Camp (English or French courses with sports & recreation, OR English or French courses only)

Description

The International Language Day Camp offers children and youth ages 9-17 years the opportunity to participate in a day camp specialized in second-language learning (English or French) combined with dynamic sports and recreational activities offered in a safe and enriching environment.

Proof of age is required upon registration.

Monday to Friday*
8 am - 9 am - Supervised drop-off with games
9 am - 12 pm - Sports & recreation while practicing English or French

Spanish: Conversation and grammar

Description

The conversation and grammar course for youth focuses on learning grammar concepts to improve Spanish skills as well as oral capabilities in day-to-day conversation at all levels.

Spanish: Summer intensive course

Description

The Spanish summer intensive course offers students ages 9-17 years the opportunity to learn or perfect their Spanish language skills. This course serves as an immersion in a dynamic and enriching environment.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12::00 p.m.
   
FIRST SESSION
From July 8th to 26th 2013
3 weeks = 45 hours.

SECOND SESSION

International Language Program at Camp YMCA Kanawana

Description

In collaboration with the YMCA International Language School, YMCA Kanawana offers campers ages 10-16 years the possibility of learning a new language in an overnight summer camp environment.  A wonderful way to learn or improve your English, experience the adventure of the outdoors and experience an array of fun activities in a safe and welcoming environment.  English classes are given by our certified, dynamic teachers during the Interest Group period. The rest of the day is spent as a regular day at camp – making friends, learning new skills, and enjoying the outdoors – all under the supervision of dedicated Kanawana staff members.

Session 2: July 9 to July 20
Session 3: July 23 to August 3

2 levels: Beginner and intermediate

The International Language Program is given during sessions 1, 2 or 3 only.

There are a maximum of 15 participants per class for the beginner and intermediate groups.
