LOCAL STUDENTS

Canadian citizens, permanent residents, holders of Québec selection certificate, diplomats and their immediate family members (spouse and children), refugees (asylum seekers)

REFUND POLICY FOR DAY COURSE SESSION- AND EVENING COURSE SESSION

TYPE of CANCELLATIONPENALTY
1. Before the session start date *
  • No penalty shall be applied.
  • The entire fee will be refunded if the student cancels the registration or if the course is cancelled by the school.
  • The $20 level-test fee, if applicable, is non-refundable.
2. After the session start date *
  • The classes the student has attended must be paid for (calculated at hourly rate).
  • A 10% administration penalty will be applied to the amount to be refunded. If you decide to keep the balance in your YMCA account, this penalty will not apply.
  • The $20 level-test fee, if applicable, is non-refundable.
  • The $20 administrative fee paid at registration, if applicable, is non-refundable.
3. Postponing until a later session
  • If the course is postponed before the beginning of the session (excluding the first day), there is no penalty (see point 1).
  • If postponed after the beginning of the session (including the first day), the classes already taken must be paid for; the balance of classes will be saved in the student’s YMCA account for one year.
  • When students use their balance for a new language course in a subsequent session, they must register for the entire new session, paying the difference between the balance and the total cost of the new course.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

REFUND POLICY FOR DAY COURSE SESSION - 2014

NOTE: All amounts are in Canadian dollars

1. Refusal by Immigration Canada

Students who are unable to obtain the appropriate documents to enter Canada are entitled to a refund of all pre-paid fees, less an administration fee of $120. Students must request the refund in writing and send a copy of the letter of refusal from Immigration Canada to the YMCA International Language School.

2. Cancellation of a Day Course Session before arrival in Canada

Students who wish to cancel their course(s) must return the original Letter of Acceptance and must provide written notification to the International Language School of The YMCAs of Québec. Students will receive a complete refund of all pre-paid fees, minus the $120 administration fee and $100 cancellation fee.

3. Cancellation of a Day Course Session course after arrival in Canada and before the beginning of classes (first day included)

If you cancel before the beginning of a Day Course Session (first day included), all the pre-paid fees will be refunded, less a 40% fee on the total amount, and less the administration fee of $120.

4. Cancellation after the beginning of classes (first day included) of a Day Course Session.

There is no refund for any portion of services within a four-week course after it starts (first day included). All the other pre-paid courses will be refunded, less a 40% fee on the total amount and less the administration fee of $120.

5. Postponement

Students who wish to delay the start of a course must ensure that written notification reaches the International Language School of The YMCAs of Québec at least 21 days before the start of the course. Students who fail to provide sufficient notice will be charged a postponement fee of $75. If the postponement is due to a visa delay, the $75 fee will not be charged but we will require proof of the delay.

REFUND POLICY FOR EVENING COURSE SESSION – 2014

NOTE: All amounts are in Canadian dollars

1. Cancellation of an Evening Course Session before the beginning of classes (first day included)

If you cancel before the beginning of an Evening Course Session (first day included), all the pre-paid fees will be refunded, less a 40% fee on the total amount and the $50 administration fee.

2. Cancellation after the beginning of classes (first day included) of an Evening Course Session.

There is no refund for any portion of services within an Evening Course Session after it starts (first day included). All the other pre-paid courses will be refunded less a 40% fee on the total amount, and the $50 administration fee.

*Refund is made to the payer only and by the same method of payment initially used, except for payments made by cash or by debit card, which will be refunded by cheque.
